Linux System for Cybersecurity
This course provides a comprehensive introduction to various Linux distributions, with a focus on Kali Linux as the prominent choice for cybersecurity. Students will learn to install and manage different Linux distributions both locally and on cloud platforms like AWS. The curriculum covers fundamental aspects like file and directory ownership and permissions, as well as delves into shell scripting. Additionally, the course equips individuals with essential system administration skills, encompassing network configuration, process and log administration, and software management. Emphasizing security tasks, participants will engage in activities such as footprinting, configuring firewalls, and utilizing tools for Intrusion Detection, enhancing their proficiency in Linux-based cybersecurity practices.
What I learned in the course:
I learned how to be capable of executing essential system administration functions, scripting in the shell for task automation, and implementing necessary security measures to ensure the protection of Linux systems.
