Overview

The internship is for Old Dominion University Center for Global Health in Norfolk, Virginia. Center for Global Health at ODU was established in 2012, the center is a community leader focused on research, service, and education to improve the quality of health for people locally and internationally. As a proponent of ODU’s College of Health Sciences, the center is dedicated to positively impacting health through collaborations with the faculty, the community, and organizations. The center participates in many programs and projects independently and with partners. In addition, mission and initiatives encourage a transdisciplinary approach to addressing global health issues at home and abroad.  The mission is to positively impact health and well-being through collaborations among faculty, students, communities, and other partners. Vision is to improve people’s health and quality of life on a local and global basis leveraging Hampton Roads’ unique strengths in education, research, and outreach.  Core values are health equity, inclusiveness, interdisciplinary, and knowledge-driven.  My preceptor for the internship is Michelle A. Kekeh,  who is a Research Coordinator.
