Cybersecurity is often seen as a technical field, but it is deeply multi-disciplinary. This course examines the social, political, legal, criminological, and economic dimensions of cybersecurity through a social science framework. Students explore human factors and social influences that contribute to cyber incidents, as well as the mechanisms used to regulate risky behaviors. The class also highlights how disciplines such as psychology, political science, criminology, economics, sociology, and international studies approach cybersecurity.
