Exploring Cultures

Learning a new language is not about how to reading, writing, or speaking it. The is a hidden reason why we learn a language. Who created the language? The reason we learn a language is to connect with those who speak it! Culture plays a huge part around language. To best way to learn one’s culture is to speak and learn from that person using their language. Along my journeys of learning Spanish, there were a few instances of words that carry it’s meaning strongly around the culture of Latin America. The words such as “Usted” and “Tu” play a large of of how Hispanics respect each other using these words. The word “Siesta” was made up from Spanish to describe the work breaks many Latin Americans see as normal in their culture. As you can see, while I learned Spanish, I learn a little bit of how Hispanics see the world through by speaking their language.
