I have published two pieces of research for NATO. Alliances and Partnerships in a Complex and Challenging Security Environment, which I co-edited with my ODU colleague Regina Karp, is a compendium of essays written by participants in the 2024 NATO Academic Conference hosted by Old Dominion University. That conference marked a key step on NATO’s road to its July 2024 Washington Summit.

In 2023, I published an article in NATO’s OPEN Publications series co-written with two ODU graduate students, Paul Pepi and Jared Sykes. “NATO’s Enlargement: An Opportunity to Enhance Collective Resilience” examined the concept of alliance resilience, assessed the various effects of NATO’s post-Cold War enlargements on its resilience, and considered how potential future members (including now-members Finland and Sweden) would affect NATO’s resilience.
