In a time where technology is on the rise, the need for professionals who are experts in network security are needed more than ever now. According to an article published by Maryville University, “A network security Engineer protects systems from cyber threats, including bugs, malware, and hacking attempts.” These professionals are able to identify issues within a system and respond to the issues, as well as have a plan of action in case of future threats to the system.

Engineers assist in making cyber networks more safe by setting the foundation in order to make the cyber network trustworthy. Engineers are constantly creating new cyber networks and looking for different ways to improve the security within a network. By doing this, engineers are making it harder for attackers to successfully hack into a cyber network. Now, this does not mean that the cyber network is completely safe and that they could never face an attack, but it does cut down on the threat to the network. According to the article, The need for systems engineering-based trustworthy secure systems, the author mentions that “trustworthy secure systems are less susceptible, but not impervious to, the effects of modern adversity that includes attacks orchestrated by an intelligent adversary.”

In addition to that, engineers will look for vulnerabilities within a cyber network and based on their findings, the engineers can build, maintain, and upgrade cyber networks to make them more trustworthy. Cyber Security Engineers are needed more than ever in this day and age. New technology is constantly being developed and it will continue to develop. Therefore, criminals are always coming up with different ways to exploit people for their own personal gain. So, that is why it is extremely useful to have cyber security engineers who know how to keep Cyber networks safe from cyber criminals, and not only that but have the proper procedures in place in case the system is faced with a threat.
