POLICING IN AMERICAN SOCIETY

This particular course is designed to allow students to examine policing at the federal, state, and local levels of government. There is a particular emphasis placed upon the historical development of law enforcement, the roles and functions of local police, current policing strategies, and the relationship between the police and local communities. We also addressed the theories in policing and discussed empirical research findings related to those theories.
