Discussion Board #3

Some ways to reduce human error include maintaining strong passwords, regularly training employees on proper security measures, utilizing multi-factor authentication, and performing regular security audits. Having a weak or reused password is relatively common and, in some cases, leads to those passwords being compromised and any important information contained within those accounts being free for the attackers to access. On another note, some employees are unaware of certain security protocols, which may pose a problem in the future; this includes actions such as leaving their work devices open and unattended while they are elsewhere. Also, multi-faction authentication is a safe bet to strengthen the security of an account because it makes it difficult for attacks to try and gain access without having a biometric ID of the user or the randomly generated code provided to them on another application. Regular security audits are another way to improve security because auditors can tell companies what they lack and need to do better to be more secure. Truthfully, no company is perfect, and security breaches happen even to those who have prepared and trained their staff accordingly. However, it is still good to understand the importance of these practices regardless of what may happen.
