Welcome to my portfolio page. On this page, I have outlined my objectives for my time here at Old Dominion University and reflected on how our study of fluid mechanics will serve as a cornerstone for my future career.

Objectives at ODU

The first and foremost objective of my studies is obtaining my Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering Technology at Old Dominion University. The reason I chose this university is due to the fact that it is famous for its quality programs in engineering, and it is also accredited by ABET. Finally, I have chosen this program because I need to acquire my knowledge base in engineering technology to be able to open up new career paths for myself.

Fluid Mechanics in My Educational Journey

Fluid mechanics forms a very important part of the foundation that needs to be developed by all budding engineers or designers. Developing an understanding of fluid mechanics is critical at this point because the upcoming courses, such as Heat Transfer, Advanced Fluid Mechanics, Aerodynamics, and Hydraulics, will make use of the skills learned in this course.

Professional Impact and Career Alignment

Looking towards the future, my chosen career paths would involve the HVAC field, power generation, or manufacturing industries, all three of which require an understanding of fluid behavior for their designs to be successful. Additionally, because this class involves such an analytical perspective, it instills in students a vital professional trait: the necessity of justification for everything that you do. Engineering does not involve making things up on a piece of paper; rather, it requires backing your ideas with facts and physics, and that is the heart of engineering.
