Mid-Semester Reflection
At the beginning of French 2, I honestly found the class pretty difficult. I struggled a lot with pronunciation and translation, and it felt like everything was moving fast. I thought that if I could spell words, I would automatically be able to say them correctly, but that wasn’t true. That made it frustrating at first, and I didn’t feel very confident in my speaking.
As the semester went on, I started to improve. I practiced more, especially with pronunciation, and I could tell I was getting better over time. Even though pronunciation is still a challenge for me, I feel more comfortable speaking than I did at the beginning. I also realized that one of my strengths is spelling and typing in French. That helped me stay confident and keep up with the class, even when speaking was harder.
Now, I feel like I understand French more instead of just memorizing it. I’ve gotten better at recognizing vocabulary and understanding how sentences work. I still want to improve my pronunciation and translation skills, but I can see my progress. Overall, this experience has shown me that learning a language takes time, practice, and patience, and I’m proud of how much I’ve improved so far.
