ImmerseMe Reflection
Pronunciation
At the beginning, I didn’t do that well with pronunciation. I thought if I could spell the words, I would be able to say them right, but that wasn’t really the case. French sounds are different, so it was hard at first. As I kept practicing, especially with the pronunciation mode, I started to get better. By the end, I felt more comfortable speaking, even though I still need more practice.
Writing/Dictation Preview
This part was probably my strongest. I’m really good at typing and spelling, so it came easier to me. I was able to recognize words and remember vocabulary better than when I had to say them out loud. It helped me understand how sentences are put together, and it made me feel more confident in my French.
Translation Preview
Translation was kind of hard for me at first. I used to try to translate everything word-for-word, but I learned that doesn’t always work in French. That made it confusing in the beginning. Over time, I started focusing more on the meaning instead of each word, and that helped me improve. It’s still something I’m working on.
Immersion
The immersion part made everything feel more real. It felt like I was actually using French in real-life situations instead of just doing assignments. It also helped me understand that learning a language isn’t just about memorizing words, but actually being able to communicate. Overall, I feel like I’ve improved, especially with vocabulary and pronunciation, but I still want to keep building my confidence when speaking.
