Mya Owen

Ms. Owen is a dental assistant at Greenbrier Dental Care, and she has an associate’s degree in applied science. Her own smile inspired her to become a dental assistant and help other people with their smiles. She attended ECPI to get her associates degree in applied science. She is responsible for setting up sterilization, setting up rooms, and helping the doctor. Her favorite part of her job is making people feel good about their smile and making them more confident and happy. She is happy that she gets to make a difference in peoples lives. The most challenging part of her job is having patients who haven’t been to the dentist in a while, with teeth that are declining and there is nothing they can do but pull them and seeing their reaction. Advice that she would give to other people seeking to get into the health field is to not take things personal and leave everything at work.
