The major I’m pursuing is Dental Hygiene. I chose this major due to the different reasons which are from experience when I went to the dentist I loved how interactive my dental hygienist was with me and how they explained to me more in-depth about the profession. I also like how versatile/flexible the career is and it’s not only limited to working in a clinical environment. There should be more representation of people of color in dentistry or just healthcare in general, so I definitely want to be an inspiration for women of color to be ambitious and strive for high-leading careers. Overall just informing and helping people about their oral health is something I want to pursue/do. I don’t really have experience in dental hygiene as of right now, but I plan to gain/build experience throughout my college career at Old Dominion University.
