For this assignment, I decided to create my social media persona by using X as my platform. X is perhaps the social media app that I use the most, as I believe it’s the best for sports news. This is especially true during NBA/NFL free agency, trade deadlines, the Premier League transfer window, and NBA draft news. Also, believe that it’s the easiest platform to use if you want to state a quick opinion on a topic. The main content that I will be posting on my page will be about the Washington Wizards. The Wizards are my favorite NBA team, and the content that I consume is mostly about them.
On my page, you would see posts that I agree with and decided to repost. One of them from WizardsMuse about the Wizards’ front office being ranked 9th worst in the league. They disagree with the ranking and believe that the Wizards’ front office should get more credit for the moves they made over the last 3 years. I reposted this because I agree with the statement that the Wizards’ front office is being underappreciated. Of course, I’m not oblivious to the Wizards’ current style of play, but I have seen improvement from the young players and believe the most recent moves they made can only help them in the future.
The first post I made was a 2026 NBA draft lottery simulator on the website Tankathon. This website helps see the current ranking of the NBA lottery, and it has a feature that lets you simulate the lottery to see how the order could potentially be on draft night. Around this time, fans of teams that are going to be in the lottery head to this website and simulate to see if their team gets the #1 overall pick. The Wizards are currently ranked 2nd in the lottery and on my first spin, they were able to move up one and get the #1 pick. Of course, this means nothing because it is possible that this outcome doesn’t happen, but it is a fun website to be on while waiting for the draft to arrive.
The next post that I made was a prediction that the Wizards would be the NBA champions in 2028. This is meant to be a humorous post, but it is also something that I believe can be a possibility. I recognize that the Wizards have been one of the worst teams in the league the last couple of years, but I also believe that they created a nice foundation. The recent draft picks they made, the future draft capital they have, and the recent additions of Trae Young and Anthony Davis have made me optimistic for the future. The final post I decided to make was showing off a bobble head of my favorite player, John Wall. I decided to post this because it was a bobble head that I got from a special night dedicated to John Wall.
