Exploring Culture
In our text book we go to read about different real world people and their everyday lives. In each chapter there were 1-5 people that would tell us about how the topic of the chapter influenced their daily lives. This helped me learn more about day to day life for some people in country different from my own. These chapters also taught me about a new perspective on life. We also did talk abroad’s witch is where we would have a video call with a person in a Spanish speaking country in real time. This aloud us to test our practical Spanish speaking skills with a someone fluent. As we spoke they would tell us to learn more about things in Spanish speaking countries from the people who live there. I had a great conversation with one of the women I spoke to about art and the artist the she liked and I got to tells her about mine.
Engaging in Communities
Engaging in global and local communities is important to help promote a peaceful and loving community in both cases.
Interpersonal Communication
We interacted with out classmates majoritively in spanish. We also did talk abroad’s that aloud us to communicate with native spanish speakers allowing us to hear about there everyday lives
I found my talk Abroad’s extremely helpful for two things. They allowed me to test out how much Spanish I actually know. In the talk abroad conversations you are forced to just keep talking and you’re not allowed to use English, this makes you push yourself to fully explore how much Spanish you know. I found this extremely helpful with vocab. The main critiques I got from my talk abroad’s was to work on my sentence structure. This something I struggle with in all aspects of Spanish. And one thing I got praised for was my pronunciation. My pronunciation of words is something I worry about a lot so to know that it’s not as bad as I thought it very comforting.
Presentational Speaking
We did not focus on presentational speaking during the semester. The closest thing we did to presentational speaking was our talk abroad.
Then, in a paragraph, write a reflection that includes each presentation you completed in which you explain what challenged you and how you grew and overcame those challenges. What did you excel at? What/how would you do differently next time?
Presentational Writing
We put together outfits for people in Spanish and gave them occasions to wear them. We had to format these outfits in a way that made sense for someone to look at and figure out how to style them
I think I did well on this assignment. I enjoyed it i thought it was fun to do it allowed me to apply my Spanish in a creative way. The feedback i got on this assignment Was mainly on my sentence structure same for most of my work this semester. I enjoyed this assignment a lot and I learned a lot from it as well.

Interpretive Listening
We did a lot of work with interpretive listening this semester. Most of it came from in-class as most of our class was taught in Spanish, but it was also heavily incorporated into our homework assignments. We did a lot of work watching videos that were entirely in Spanish. We also had some units incorporate audio recordings of sentences that used our vocab. and we were tasked with translating the message.
Interpretive Reading
Two of the biggest assignments we had to work on this semester involved reading and analyzing short stories. We read Finita la Gringa and El Eclipse. We used these stories to help us grasp how to use the different past-tense endings. We also had to find a story on our own analyze it and submit it for our mid-term grade.
EXILIOOverall I found this semester extremely challenging but I did learn. The semester like the past two semesters has taught me the value of learning a new language and how helpful I will be in the real world.
