Exploring culture

In this Spanish class there were so many opportunities to learn the different cultures, my favorite lesson was on food. I love to eat and this unit shows me all the types of food in a Spanish speaking country that I would one day like to try.

Engaging communties

I feel that It is important for everybody to start learning a second language. not only is it fun but it opened my eyes to the different styles. Learning another language was extremely hard for me I know this is something I cant just do a one and done I will have to continue to grow and improve myself everyday.

Intrapersonal speaking

The voice recorded speaking I decided to use was with a tutor. These tutoring sessions have really helped me improve on my understand and speaking. In the clip below I showed me struggling and my Spanish tutor helping me and him also giving me some tips and tricks on how to continue to improve myself. When It came to my study abroad I was completely uncomfortable with speaking to a native Spanish speaker. I did not want to to do horrible. I was also very nervous. My partner helped with slow down and also let me know that it is ok to not understand everything being said. I am typically better at writing Spanish than speaking it, so that is something that I will continue to fix.

Presentational writing

In unit 5 each student in spanish 102 was required to do a brochure and down below is mine.

This brochure was one of my favorite activities. I wanted my brochure to be all about a family vacation, so I made sure I included activities for not only adult but also the kids. In my brochure, there are couple activities but it is mostly family activities. In my brochure I used pictures of families to show that it is fun. I also made it an all inclusive resort so the parents would not have to pay so much since they would be paying for the flights and everything. I wish that I put an driver will pick them up from the airport , so that everything would be fun and families would want to come to my resort.

Imperative listening

Starting off this semester my professor pushed everyone to try this website. it was picking a Spanish speaking song and filling in the blanks of the missing lyrics. This activity was not only imperative listening it was also imperative reading and I completely loved this activity even though it was a pain.

Imperative reading

This was from an activity in which I was given an menu and an article and had to read to see it so that I could answer the questions. This activity tested my reading abilities as well as memorization. This activity was right after learning the food and drink items so I struggle a little bit but I still loved this activity.
