I believe that technology does play a big part in fulfilling most of the needs on Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs. At the first level, I need technology to do my job, so without technology, I would not be able to provide food and shelter for myself or my family. I need security to cover all of my technology, to secure my finances and make sure that my work is not accessed by those who might use it for the wrong thing. Technology helps me stay in touch with loved ones and show off accomplishments online, covering the next two levels. At the top level, I can use access to technology to learn new things, find new hobbies, and show them off, allowing me to better myself and feel like I am working towards being my best self.
