Travel tips

Below are a few suggestions to make your trip planning a little easier. Norfolk is accessible by plane, train, car, or boat.

Plane

The Norfolk International Airport (ORF) is the closest to the conference with about a 15-minute drive to the conference hotels. Lyft, Uber, and taxis are plentiful in the area.

Another nearby choice is the Newport News / Williamsburg International Airport (PHF), which is about 45-60 minutes away from the conference.

Farthest away is the Richmond International Airport (RIC), which is about a 2-hour drive from the conference hotels.

Train

If you like your feet closer to the ground, consider taking a train. The Norfolk Amtrak station (NFK) has lots of scenic routes and is about 1 miles from the conference hotels.

Car

Driving to Norfolk can be a great way to enjoy more of the local area. If you don’t drive to the area often, you should know that you’ll most likely cross at least one bridge or go through a tunnel, and some drives have tolls (Virginia uses the EZ Pass system).

Boat

We know this travel method is highly unlikely, but if you’re feeling adventurous you can float, paddle, or sail from the Chesapeake Bay to the Elizabeth River and into the docks about 2 blocks from the hotel.
