Hello, my name is Steven Robert McDonald, but most people call me Chewby. I began my college career in August of 2004, but unfortunately dropped out in 2006. I started working at Newport News Shipbuilding, and after a year of being pushed by my supervision, decided to go throught their apprentice program. I finished in early 2011 and made my first comeback to ODU. Sadly, a hectic work schedule saw to it that my return was short lived. Fast forward to 2020, in the height of the pandemic, my boss pushed me to revisit my education and even threated to make it a part of my perforamnce agreement. If everything goes to my current plan, I will finish my degree in December of 2024, 20 years after my start at ODU.
