M1: La Descripción
The purpose of this unit was to show our ability to describe the details of the picture, such as the location, objects, people, qualities, and circumstances that help the reader imagine the context with more precision and clarity through our knowledge of the Spanish language.

Our first-class assignment was to choose an important photo that meant something special to us. It was also recommended by our professor to pick a photo that we could use throughout the whole semester for all of our writing to showcase our creativity and versatility with only the use of a single picture; therefore, I chose a picture of my AP Spanish class in high school because it shows not only my passion for the language, but it is also a great way to share various life experiences that I have learned throughout my journey of learning Spanish.

This essay gave me the least difficulty to write among all of the four major essays in class due to my previous experiences of writing descriptive texts in almost all of the Spanish classes that I have taken in the past; therefore, the process of writing a descriptive essay became easier for me. The importance of having a sufficient vocabulary also allowed me to be able to successfully describe the details in the picture to give the readers a vivid imagination of the context of my writing.

My response in this portion of our first exam was one of my favorites because the power of descriptive writing gave me an opportunity to add life and depth through my words of description of the beautiful girl in the photo.
M2: La narración
The purpose of this unit was to demonstrate our ability to narrate a story through different forms of narration writing such as autobiographies, short stories, historical text writing, story tales, etc. All of these require the writer to recount a series of actions or incidents involving the protagonists to the audience; therefore it is crucial to organize these events in a logical manner.

Narrative essays are my favorite to write because it provides a space for me to creatively express my ideas unlike in most academic writings. Also, the assignments within this module expanded my knowledge in punctuation and accentuation rules in Spanish which is essential in organizing and forming the appropriate kind of sentences in this type of writing.

M3: El ensayo narrativo
The purpose of this unit was to demonstrate our ability to interpret topics through research from reliable sources in order to develop a clear and powerful story to persuade the readers.
El editorial – ensayo final
The editorial essay was the most difficult for me to write because I did not have many past experiences when it came to this form of writing; however, our assignments in VHL helped me comprehend the expectations of this essay. In this unit, we also learned conjunction grammar rules and the proper use of passive and active voice which is also significant to learn in order to successfully write this essay.

M5: La argumentación
The purpose of this unit was to develop a valid position by defending our point of view and providing rational reasonings through an argumentative essay. Our argumentative writings in this unit gave us a fundamental space to find our own voice and convey our ideas to influence the audience.
Ensayo de refutación
The process of writing this essay was challenging because it required me to counter-argue a presented statement or topic even if I agreed with the given position. This unit taught me how to strengthen my reasoning skills in order to be able to defend any positions with valid reasonings.
