Bio

Originally from Waco, Texas, I joined the Navy directly out of high school in 2004. While serving, I’ve had many opportunities to expand my knowledge and experience across multiple career fields. The first fifteen years in the Navy, I specialized in the maintenance and repair of electronic and instrumentation control equipment for nuclear reactor control and safety systems, while supervising power plant operations.

I commissioned in 2020 as Surface Warfare Officer, where I had the opportunity to drive a multi-million dollar warship and lead the training program for the crew, ensuring all Sailors were prepared to successfully execute deployments and multinational exercises.

I transitioned to cybersecurity and information technology four years ago, turning my life-long passion for computers into a professional career. As the Communication and Information Systems deputy department head for the Navy’s CISSP, I directed a diverse team of Sailors and civilians to sustain the Navy’s global defensive cyberspace architecture.

I am continuing my education for both professional and personal development at Old Dominion University, by pursuing a Master of Science in Cybersecurity with a concentration in AI for Cybersecurity.
