- How does your major relate to cybersecurity technology?
My major relates to almost every technology that a human being uses such as a cell phone. When a person locks her cell phone and they want to go on their phone, they require a password. When you use a password it is basically a firewall for other people to not break into your phone or access any data that you may have that is important to you. You always have to check on what website you use because some websites would contain a virus that might be implanted into your phone once you access the website. If someone has hacked your phone and has stolen data that belongs to you you would try to go to a phone store and see if they can fix it but they would contact the person who is in a cybersecurity degree because that’s when we make sure they didn’t steal anything or everything from your phone such as your private accounts, your Social Security number, anything that is important to you. My major involves reducing the risk of malicious attacks on software, computers, and networks. Cybersecurity entails the safeguarding of computer networks and the information they contain from penetration and from malicious damage or disruption
2. Select four other majors offered by ODU and explain how those majors relate to cybersecurity.

CyberCrime – Cybercrime studies the causation of crimes that occur in cyberspace and its impact in the physical space.
Information Systems and Technology – It relates to cybersecurity because it supports/manages a computer-based information system and particularly software applications and computer hardware.
Computer Engineering – Engineers apply the principles of science and mathematics to develop economic solutions to technical problems. Their work is the link between scientific discoveries and the commercial applications that meet societal and consumer needs.
