Propaganda Pretest

This pretest is the first assignment in the propaganda module and is designed to assess prior knowledge before instruction begins. This formative assessment evaluates the students’ ability to identify common propaganda techniques and identify the difference in factual information and persuasive messaging. The questions are intentionally focused on the most basic concepts of propaganda in order to clearly establish a baseline understanding and allow opportunity for growth throughout the unit for each student.

The purpose of this pretest is to guide lesson planning and determine which content areas require greater focus during instruction. By analyzing student responses, I am able to identify strengths, weaknesses, and misunderstandings related to propaganda, allowing me to adjust instructional strategies, if necessary, to ensure effective learning. This assessment also measures students’ critical thinking skills as they analyze basic questions about propaganda. Ultimately, the goal of this pretest is to support student-centered learning by building a strong foundational understanding and ensuring student growth throughout the unit.
