Reflective Journals: The reflective journal is a minimum two-page double-spaced document to be submitted at the end of each 50 hours of internship work.
What is a reflection journal? These are the primary places for demonstrating meaningful reflections as you address the Learning Objectives: resolve problems and challenges, and document observations and feelings relating to your internship.
The goals of the reflective journal are:
- To provide a forum for deep reflection on your internship experience (i.e., observations, projects/ tasks, challenges, etc.);
- To provide an opportunity to highlight the progress towards achieving your (the intern’s) Learning Objectives;
- To provide an avenue for the Internship Instructors to constantly monitor, coach, and assess the internship experience.
Reflective Journals must include the following:
- Your name
- Course
- Term
- Instructor Name
- TA Name
- Company/Organization Name
- Reflection #___ (this number will change with every submission)
