The topic of my essay 2 was: The Inherent Dangers Related to Not Asking for Help. The most important was to explain why the students does not ask for help and what are the consequences. Writing essay 2 wasn’t more difficult than writing essay 1. It took me almost the same amount of time for both of them. However, I made more mistakes on essay 2. I still have to improve before the Writing Sample Placement Test.

I am improving in purpose and content. My introduction is complete and my thesis is clearly stated. Furthermore, the coherence of my body is better. I use transitions between my paragraphs and my arguments are clearly stated. I use examples and details in my essay to support my arguments. I used them carefully and my essay was not overload of details. On the other hand, I am not improving in my clarity and syntax. I am still making mistake in word choices. I still have a lack of vocabulary despite my effort. I think I need to search more synonyms and take more time to check my vocabulary when I complete my essay. I also need to improve in run-on sentence to avoid failure in WSPT. Finally, I have more mistakes in convention in essay 2 than essay 1. I need to spend more time to check my essay to avoid those mistakes. I must watch carefully the spelling of my words.

I did everything I should do on Word press. I did “my passion” slide and I complete the “about me” on time. I did the reflexion essay 1, and I also put journal 1 to 5 after my reflexion essay 1. Moreover, I did journal 6 to 10 on time according to the syllabus.  I also read chapter 1 to 5 and took the quizzes 1 to 5 on Blackboard. All of them were turned in on time.

I did not do any additional work on sentence structures and grammar, although I need it. I will have to do more additional practice if I want to improve. However, I did the Excel spreadsheet for essay 1 and I turned it on time.

I need to pay more attention to the convention and syntax mistakes. I also need to do some additional practice to improve my work. I will focus my practice on syntax and convention, especially on sentence structures and word choices.

Journal 6:

My special talent is to play with children and to keep them busy. Although I didn’t have any diploma, I am very good for that even if I have to play for several days like the party for the eightieth birthday of my grandfather. I played perched cat, hide and seek, soccer and many others. I think it’s both a talent and the fact that the children were happy to play with a teenager (almost adult in France) but I am proud of considering it a talent. As long as I keep them busy, I am sure that at least I keep them happy. In my opinion, “A child’s smile, whether it’s mine or not, is the most beautiful thing a man has to invent.”

Journal 7:

To make people laugh, I just have to do like Louis De Funes. It means mug it up; speak fast and a gesture sometimes exaggerated. Although I am not an expert, I like to imitate him because he was and is still considered as “le roi du rire” who can be translated as “the king of laugher.” It’s working most of the times. However, it is limit because making people laugh is not my best skill.

Journal 8:

I would choose California because everyone in my family wishes to go there. I also heard from every American people I met in high-school:”I want to visit California.”I also like the idea of living in a dry state with beautiful places to visit. Finally, I want to discover the West Coast and California is a good place to start even if it means moving out again.

Journal 9:

In my refrigerator there is always orange juice, my favorite one. There is also ham and eggs which I use for my breakfast almost every day. Finally, there is a lot of European cheeses; such as “emmental”, “Marwal” and some others. However, since I live in the USA, it became hard to find anything else than cheddar.

Journal 10:

My favorite video game is Warcraft III, the Frozen Throne from Ubisoft. It is both an RPG and a multiplayer game. I like this game because it offers many different campaigns and maps to play. As far as I remember I never played any other games since I discovered this one. I like to play this game because it can be played with different strategies.
