My Talk Abroad experience was incredibly positive. My native speakers name was Tatiana. She is from Quebec and is a French tutor. I was very nervous and Tatiana put me at ease. It was a relaxed conversation despite those nerves. She was patient and empathetic, helping to shepard the conversation through the topics and at moments when I became stuck or forgot a simple word. It was a lot of fun, and felt as though I were speaking to an old friend. She was happy to repeat herself occasionally or expound upon a topic to help me better grasp the conversational direction. We discussed family, and education, home life, and my new home. Our conversation touched on a sensitive subject and she handled it very delicately which I appreciated immensely.
