Hello! My name is Victoria Santana, I am 22 years old and I am currently a student at Old Dominion University. I am majoring in History with a concentration in Teacher Preparation, and I enjoy all of my classes and am excited about my future career in teaching. I plan on teaching middle school history once I graduate, because I want to help students learn analytical and critical thinking skills that will benefit them in all aspects of their lives. Additionally, there are countless fascinating and intriguing historical events and figures that shaped the world we live in today, and I am excited to share my knowledge about these topics with my future students.
For many years, one of my goals in life has been to learn Spanish fluently. As a half-Puerto Rican woman, I have always wanted to learn Spanish in order to communicate and connect with many of my relatives who speak Spanish as a first language. By taking Spanish classes at ODU, I hope to further my understanding of the Spanish language and become fluent in Spanish. When I am not studying Spanish, I am working as a bartender at the Ocean View Fishing Pier Restaurant. One of my goals is to be able to serve people completely in Spanish, since we do have a good amount of Hispanic customers. I also enjoying watching scary movies and playing with my two dogs, a French Bulldog named Snowflake and a Italian Greyhound named Piper.
