Current study habits that I use now are making flashcards, practice tests, and repeating assignments. Techniques I use in class are taking detailed notes during a lecture and techniques I use outside of class are listening to recordings and reviewing the notes that were taken. Something I do very often while I’m studying is writing questions I have on the material so the following class it can be clarified. A class I am doing well in is chemistry. Study methods that I use for this class is, reviewing over powerpoints daily to make sure the information is retained. Also, making flashcards on key terms for memorization. A class I’m not doing well in is Interpreting the American past. Strategies I use to study are, listening to recordings repeatedly and taking detailed notes. I plan to study for history on days I have class (three times a week) and two to three hours each time. Aspects of this class that I should focus more on are the readings and doing more note-taking while reading the passages. Less time that I would have to put on this class is the vocabulary and remembering the important people. The way I am being systematic in studying for this exam is by breaking up the information instead of studying all of it at once. Ways I’m taking advantage of my learning supports are forming study groups with classmates and asking questions one on one with the professor. Since starting college I have not had any problems with having the motivation to study. The reason why I’m taking this course is that it is one of my general ed classes. Confusions I have clarified are instructions with submission instructions. Confusions that still remain in history are some of the time periods and by taking advantage of office hours. During exam preparation, methods that worked best for me are flashcards and looking over past discussion boards. Study methods that didn’t work for me are reading the readings only since it does not help me with comprehension. Lastly, questions that I did not answer correctly are when I did not put evidence in classwork or enough description in my answers. I didn’t have much confusion regarding this because my professor and I reviewed it. Five study tips I reviewed over in the link given was, charting a weekly timetable, not overextending myself and still focusing on other priorities, breaking jobs into smaller ones, ordering tasks from highest priority to lowest, and reminding myself of possible consequences if work isn’t finished. A technique I would use in class is not writing everything the instructor says and writing down the key points and conclusions, and a technique I would use outside of class is testing my comprehension by teaching other classmates.
