1. Your first semester:

I think I have grown a lot this semester. I think I have become a lot more mature and responsible since I have no one else doing it for me anymore. I expected to go out a lot and meet a lot of people. I did not meet either of these expectations, and I am not mad about it. Staying in more gives me more time to work on my homework and study. Since I am alone most of the time since I have no friends on campus it gives me more time to just learn myself better. I wish I knew that you can slack off at any time. You have to stay on top of your work and due dates because it is hard to forget.

  1. Study Habits

Honestly, I think I studied a little more at the beginning of the semester because I had less work for my classes and I did not start working until November. Instead of studying in my room, I like to study in the library. It keeps me more focused since it is fewer distractions. The writing center and all the science tutoring are going to definitely be helpful for next semester and also going to any reviews my teachers have. Next semester I am going to continue to study in the library and go to my teacher’s reviews.

  1. Health Professions Learning Community

My sociology teacher and science teacher both tried to incorporate social justice into our agenda. My chemistry teacher made our extra credits about social injustice in flint Michigan and my sociology teacher took us to the Chrysler Museum and showed us paintings that represented injustice. I think the most beneficial event for me was when we got to go to the nursing school in Virginia Beach. I enjoyed this event the most because I learned so much about the program that I never knew and we got to talk to nursing students in the program now and we got to ask them and questions about the program and was the application process.
