Cyber technology gives attackers the ability to harm victims through means of online communications or other online interaction. Despite the often direct interaction between attackers and victims, the attacker can remain entirely anonymous and often leave the victim in a state of helplessness. Because of cyber technology an attacker can be anywhere in the world at any given time and they can commit cybercrimes and evade identification. This often leaves few options for victims in terms of a definite solution and in some cases can cause them severe harm both mentally and physically. In recent times laws have been added or adapted to adjust for the rise in cybercrimes. However, there is a lack of a true response and way to deal with them or define them. We should dedicate a more thorough study focused on cybercrime in the field of criminal justice and try to define what these cybercrimes are. Once we have only then can a solution to them be determined. Despite not having a clear picture of the future, we have an understanding on how to prevent cybercrimes and cyberattacks now. Therefore, we should spread more awareness and make it common knowledge. Then as new innovative technologies from others immerge, we may have more solutions to the problems that we cannot yet answer.
