INTERNSHIP 2ND REFLECTION

Over the past 50 hours, I’ve transitioned from the initial onboarding phase into a much more hands-on role, actively contributing to several ongoing projects. This shift has allowed me to put my technical knowledge and skills into practice, particularly in areas such as coding, project management, and testing. One of the projects I’ve been working on involves managing VM Software, where I have been tasked with managing virtual environments and catering settings for developers. This has given me a deeper understanding of how our team uses testing to drive operational improvements.

One of the more technical aspects of my duties has involved working with specialized software tools to manage and analyze data. I’ve become more proficient with these systems, which is crucial for organizing and helping our teammates. This has required a careful attention to detail, as any errors in settings could lead to incorrect outcomes. I’ve also had the opportunity to work on streamlining some of our processes, contributing to the optimization of workflows within our team. I’m learning the importance of maintaining repatable and documented steps, ensuring that every step, from data collection to reporting, is accurate.

In addition to these technical tasks, I’ve taken a more active role in project coordination. This includes managing timelines, tracking progress, and ensuring that our team’s work aligns with the overall objectives of the department. I’ve also been responsible for preparing reports and presentations, which has allowed me to further develop my communication skills. These reports are shared with other departments, and I’ve learned how critical it is to present data in a clear and concise way to ensure that key stakeholders can easily understand the insights and implications.

Collaboration across departments has become increasingly important in my role. Recently, I’ve had the opportunity to work closely with teams in other departments, coordinating our efforts to ensure that the data and information we provide supports their needs as well. This cross-functional collaboration has helped me gain a broader perspective on the organization’s goals and has given me a deeper appreciation for how our department fits into the larger mission. I’ve also been able to see how effective communication between departments can greatly enhance overall productivity.

During this time, I’ve faced challenges related to shifting project priorities. As deadlines have changed or new tasks have emerged, I’ve had to learn how to quickly adapt and reorganize my work. The ability to stay flexible and manage competing priorities has been a key skill I’m developing. With the guidance of my colleagues, I’m learning how to balance immediate tasks with long-term goals, ensuring that no detail is overlooked.

Overall, these 50 hours have solidified my understanding of how the technical and organizational components of our work come together. I feel more confident in my ability to contribute meaningfully, particularly in areas such as data analysis and project management. Moving forward, I’m eager to continue building my technical expertise, especially in testing and evaluation, as well as further enhancing my ability to communicate and collaborate across teams. I believe this internship is providing me with a solid foundation for my future career, and I’m excited to see how I can continue to grow and make an impact.
