In conclusion, this article was about educating our forces and, by extension, our society about the decentralized nature of today’s information environment, the risks that exist, and ways and means for each of us to individually vet the facts and opinions that we digest and allow to shape our beliefs and attitudes. A multidisciplinary approach to social cybersecurity is required. We must develop applicable policy that allows for social cybersecurity. We must work to bridge any artificial divide that exists between our military and the society it serves. We must look for the DOD’s role in an interagency effort to resist today’s information blitzkrieg. For the foreseeable future, social cybersecurity will be an essential discipline.
