The first section of the article describes how cybersecurity is more than just the basics of traditional cybersecurity where we work with technology. Social cybersecurity. We have to think deeper into why we have to do that in the first place, cybercriminals. Cyber criminals try to take data and mess up systems by attacking it and we have to think of why. This is where sociology and psychology come in and I think and agree it’s a requirement and vital to implement both social and traditional parts of it because both are equally important. The whole example with Russia is a perfect example. Communication and discourse with multiple countries, in other words, Politics. How leaders deal with others, making plans and such, and analyzing other countries’ moves will always involve sociology. At the end of the day, we’re dealing with each other, human beings. An effect of this was decentralization, which they mentioned. The large media news outlets used to produce most if not all the news, so it was trusted. As time went on social networks began to be created. An everyday person can make a blog and spread false information, and no one knows what’s right anymore which has then resulted in fact-checkers that are AI. In general, having the cybersecurity force be reminded of social cybersecurity and its importance is needed as well as society about the risks of the modern internet environment.
