Interpersonal Communication

TalkAbroad Refelection
In this section, I put in a link to a Google Drive that holds me TalkAbroad audio. Overall, I think I did pretty well with communicating interpersonally in Spanish. However, it was very difficult for the conversations to carry on naturally. It didn’t feel like a natural conversation. I also had I few issues remembering words.
Presentational Speaking
Speaking Reflection
In this section I embedded the video portions of 4 projects. The video are for units 17, 18, 19, and 21 respectively. The unit 17 video asks for me to talk about where I am from and how I think the people of my community can be described using vocabulary from the unit. Unit 17’s main focus was stereotypes. As the first project of the semester, I did not have much trouble deciding what to say. The unit 18 video required me to recite a poem by a Latinx author. I chose to read Ay ay ay de la grifa negra by Julia de Burgos. The unit 19 video required me to tell a story about a moment that changed my life. I chose to tell the story of when I found out that I would be an aunt. The main focus of the video is my use of the imperfect tense. Lastly, the unit 21 video required that give a presentation on a costume or tradition that is typically celebrated among family and friends in a Hispanic culture. I chose the Day of the Dead that is celebrated mainly in Mexico. In my opinion, all of my videos have the same issue. They do not sound natural. What I mean by that is that it is easy to tell that I am uncomfortable speaking Spanish when speaking to no one in particular or as a presentation. I have issues regulating the tone and mood of my voice when I’m not being genuine or when I am too focused on the pronunciation of the words I’m speaking.
