Before taking this class, I had never made an eportfolio page, but it had its ups and downs. Overall, I felt it was a very effective way to keep track of my writing progress throughout the semester. Having everything I’ve done over the semester in one place is amazing, so I don’t have to go through my computer to find something I did in the beginning of the semester. Having everything in one location also helps the professor when it comes to grading or checking our work, so they don’t have to go on blackboard to find something. Having an Eportfolio also helped me grow as a writer and become better over time. I was able to keep track of everything, look back over my work, and write these reflections and reflect on what I have written and how I can improve in the future. There are many positives about using this, however, there were a few downsides I found while building an Eportfolio. The first issue I had was building the website itself. It was so confusing to set everything up the way I wanted it to be especially since it was my first time making a website. There are so many minor things you can edit and hidden features that it was very overwhelming and not very user friendly. The second complainant I had was typing on the website itself, it felt awful compared to word or google docs, so I’m forced to write in those programs and copy and paste over. When doing this the formatting can also get messed up sometimes. Those are the only two complaints I had when it came to build an Eportfolio. Overall though the experience was great and helped me become a better writer and keep track of everything I’ve done over the semester. I will Definitely come back to this in the next few years and reflect on what I’ve done.
