After half a semester in Univ 150, I have learned a lot about myself as a writer, techniques, and ways to improve my writing. To start off I didn’t know a lot of the grammar mistakes I make all the time or how to fix them. In the past weeks, I learned how to fix quite a lot of those such as Comma splices, Run-on sentences, Word choice, etc. After learning that I feel like my essays have become a lot more coherent and the content is just overall better. I have also really learned a lot about my writing style and who I am as a writer. When I write an essay I really like to go in-depth into what im talking about and that makes my essays very long and sometimes hard to keep up with as you might get lost when reading them. However, I have been trying to improve and do that less so I keep the attention of the reader and not lose them after the second paragraph. Over the past few weeks that has really taught me who I am as a writer and I want to keep improving. I have a few ways of how I want to improve my essays and myself as a writer. I want to stop going off-topic so easily, and be able to keep the attention of the reader. I want to improve my grammar so that my essays are easier to read and understand. Where im at right now I have a lot of grammatical errors that can make it hard to understand and I want to improve that. Lastly, I want to improve the content of my essays and figure out a way to get my thoughts into fewer words and still make it sound sophisticated. That is what I have learned over the past semester, and how I want to improve myself as a writer.
