DACUM

Existing and new curriculum in the area of maritime mechatronics will result in a coherent sequence of classes, laboratories, and work-based educational experiences that revitalize the learning environment, course content and technical experiences for students preparing to be maritime mechatronics technicians. Curriculum will be developed in response to the needs of the maritime industry, which will be analyzed using the Developing A Curriculum method (DACUM) and a Modified Delphi method. The improved program will lead to an appropriate associate degree in Mechatronics with an option in maritime mechatronics, which will provide business, industry, and public sector employers with a larger pool of skilled technicians.

DACUM was held at Tidewater Community College, Cheseapeake, VA on June 21, 2016 and June 22, 2016.
