With the US being a leading country in terms of technology use, with it’s citizens, as well as dependency on technology to run governmental systems and infrastructure, it proposes a big risk in terms of cybersecurity. According to the census in 2018, 92% of all households in the US have at least one type of computer, with 85% having a broadband internet subscription. This is a huge risk as with the amount of people who are online, they can be attacked through a myriad of ways. The US also being one of the most developed countries, having developed infrastructure and access to technology, both play hand in hand and the whole country depends on Technology. So in comparison to other countries where technology isn’t as heavily utilized or in rural areas, they have lesser security risk. However, most countries have some form of technology. Here are a few pieces of information regarding other countries and their cybersecurity.

According to a study by Comparitech, the US ranks number 2 in terms of being cyber secure. This was attributed to the Global security index, only toppled by the UK, and behind the US in third is France. Compared to other countries, the US is far from the worst in terms of being cyber secure. The study finds that Tajikistan is the least cyber secure country, swiftly followed by China and Bangladesh. Tajikistan faces attacks by Banking Malware, local malware attacks, as well as attacks by cryptominers. Japan is the most attacked in terms of Banking trojans. Vietnam ranks number 1 in terms of computers being infected by at least one malware attack.
