I really enjoyed this sport communication class and sharing my love of sports with the internet. I believe that the future of sport communication will become even more accessible than it already is with athletes having more input than they used to in the past. My favorite post that I had to share with the class this semester was my sports diet post. I showed how I watch my sport highlights on YouTube when I’m short on time and how I get all my breaking sports news conveniently on the ESPN app. It was also fun to display how I use sports through my social media account, which allows me to interact with official sport pages and connect with other fans around the world. I also enjoyed what I learned from the research that I did in the class as well. The game report post allowed me to break down information that occurred during the game and discuss key moments that impacted the result of the game. Both my Bill Russell dedicated post and my post that focused on the mental health of athletes also helped improve my writing skills when it comes to studying more significant topics in sport. I would also like to thank Falls Church high school head football coach Tim Coogan for being my sport professional. With him being my former coach at the high school level, I wanted to reach out to understand more about how he runs his football program. We mostly communicated by phone and email throughout the semester, and he taught me methods of being a more effective coach as well as tips on how he analyzes the competition. As an aspiring coach myself, I tend to use the valuable information that he shared with me to help teams succeed soon. I really appreciated this sport communication class, and I hope to use everything I learned if I ever hope to pursue a career in sports writing or broadcasting.
