Artifacts

Artifact One

My resume was remixed using CARP principals.  I chose remix my resume because it is usually the first impression a potential employer is presented with.  Given the importance of having a successful and fulfilling career, I saw fit to enhance my resume should a future employer request to see career highlights in a nontraditional format.  Applying the CARP elements to my resume will allow me to convey my message through a given medium, while also showcasing my ability to create content that is inline with current visual trends.

Artifact Two

My second artifact is a remix of two previous school assignments from this semester. I used the media element for this remix, specifically I made a Youtube video. In the video the first assignment I detail is about an interview I did with a local leader. Leadership is a huge part of my work philosophy, therefore, I wanted to highlight the learning experience I undertook during this assignment. The second assignment was about my own leadership style. The two assignments very closely paralleled each other and using the media element I will be able to reach a much larger target audience.

Artifact Three

Artifact three is about my time spent as defense contractor. I remixed various certificate and licences using segmentation. In 2012 I started contacting and have been doing so since then. My career is a major driving force in my life, hence I felt it absolutely necessary to remix these items to further illustrate the gravity my job has on my life.

Artifact Four

Artifact four is a continuation of artifact three. I remixed this artifact using the sequence element. The portion of this artifact that I wanted to focus on was my career advancement while I was in the US Navy. The Navy was fundamental in creating future success and I would not have been able progress in my career if not for my time in the Navy.

Artifact Five

Artifact number five is about my hobbies outside of work, and was remixed using the personalization element. A significant portion of my time outside of work, is spent outdoors. One of my favorite hobbies is skydiving. Given the time invested in learning to skydive I felt it necessary to remix this part of my life to highlight the sports importance to me.

Artifact Six

For artifact six I chose to remix travel pictures from around the world, using the contiguity elements. As stated on my introduction page I travel extensively for work. Sometimes, I get to mix work travel with personal travel. The reason I highlighted the travel aspect of my job is, I feel like it’s a great privilege to be exposed to various cultures from around the world. With the wide usage of digital media integrated with design elements, the contiguity element gave me a foothold in expressing my pleasure in travelling. Photos sourced from Animoto.

Artifact Seven

Artifact seven was remixed using the redundancy element. The video is still career based but focuses on my transition into the US Army. To make myself more of an asset in my career I needed to expand the volume of my professional knowledge and that was the reason for joining the Army. And, in fact it worked as I planned opening new doors in my career. This particular video was remixed because it highlights my drive to excel, as I graduated top of my class and was chosen to lead the final Army Creed.
