Reflection Paper #2

My group had remarkable success when we had to do risk assessment surveys for small businesses around the Hampton roads area. Heshvi, one of my teammates, did not get denied once when she asked two businesses for a risk assessment. Something I did notice was that it was more likely to get a yes from small businesses compared to more established and well-known businesses. To illustrate, we went to CVS and the manager was eager to help with our risk assessment. However, once I asked the question regarding their security posture, he said he was not allowed to disclose such information to the public. However, a variety of the small businesses we went to were okay with disclosing their security posture information.

Meeting our client on Tuesday for the first time was a little intimidating. We initially thought that we would be meeting the manager of the location, not the CEO Caitlin herself. However, once Caitlin showed up, we were surprised to meet the CEO of Input Technology Solutions. After having a discussion with her, we learnt that she is deeply knowledgeable and experienced in the field of cybersecurity. We also learnt that her company works with other organizations and assists in their cybersecurity postures. We agreed that we will have a team’s meeting every Monday at 4:00 PM to discuss any questions we have to further develop our final report. Overall, it was a very pleasant experience to meet Caitlin, and I am eager to collaborate with her as a consultant to aid her in suggestions that will further develop her organization.
