There are plenty of other components within a business that were not talked about in the presentation. Each competent plays a key role in the success of a business. With one example being public relations, there key role is to protect the company’s reputation. This component is usually broken down into teams within itself each contributing to the overall goal of maintain a positive looking company and ability to adapt as times change. Maintaining a positive outlook upon the general public is very important with everyone direct access to social media. Today we are seeing company’s fail because of things that have been said over social media with an example being Target. Target has faced negative publicity from a number of events that has taken place and failed adapt to the new anti-theft surveillance practices cause a 5% decrease of people coming into the store in just the first quarter of this year. This is a great example on why having a good public relations team is very important.
The role of an IT is very important role upon any company and without a strong IT team the company will truly fail in today’s society. These teams main focus is to evolve and adapt to the constant change with technology. Everyday there is going to be a new threat, and they have to be able to defend the company against that. Not only that with everything being easier using technology such as data management and communications. Being able to maintain and evolve within just these two aspects of a company have crazy the past 20 years. Everything has moved to computer no more handbooks to keep track of numbers or mailing something and waiting for a response. The roles within an IT team vary per company based off the size. Most roles within a company include a cyber team that is responsible for the security of the company, a data management team that deals with the safekeeping of data and a support team that gives technical support to either the customer or worker within to maintain a steady operation. I think the IT role itself should be organized how every other role is, that being broken down into component-based teams. This will help achieve the big goal of keeping the company safe and evolving with time.
