Game Report

Saturday night, two of the most well-known rivals played each other in basketball. USC and UCLA played for the finale of both of their seasons, and they put on an exciting game. Both halves had fairly close scores, with UCLA taking the win in the end. The game started with USC winning the jump ball and making the first 2 points (Jacob Cofie). They led 5-0 before UCLA made their first 2 points, Tyler Bilodeau with a layup. From that point, it was mostly a back-and-forth of scoring and becoming tied until the first half ended in 45-30 for UCLA. At the start of the second half, UCLA’s Donovan Dent and Erick Daily Jr. took off with layups and jumpshots, pulling their team ahead for the rest of the game. USC struggled to keep up with the score heavily during the second half. Some players did very well individually, but the team itself could not get it together, and UCLA, unfortunately, dominated and shot very well. The game ended in a 89-68 win for UCLA, with USC taking the lead in fouls at 19. They equally had 6 turnovers each, but UCLA was quicker with the rebounds. Donovan Dent was a game leader for UCLA with 25 points, and Alijah Arenas was a game leader for USC with 20 points. Both teams had very good shooting, but in the end, UCLA just took over.
