For this assignment, I held an interview with my penpal to get to know more about his job and career and how he got there. The purpose of this assignment was the get insight into the professional scene and also add in the most meaningful part of his personal experience.
During the interview I asked Nick about 10 questions all about his Education, career, First job, background, and skills. One of the most notable things he told me was “Strong leadership and attention to detail will take you very far in this career”. He comes from a military background and his job was basically paying attention to little details and as he grew in rank he then ended up leading a team of sailors under him; giving him strong leadership skills.
To recreate this interview visually, I made this infographic and put his career steps on it, along with an important quote and the skills he believes got him to where he is. I tried to make it as simple as possible as I find some that have a lot going on are distracting and hard to read.
This interview gave me a better understanding of some of the skills I need and already have to pursue my career in Sports Management. I am excited to keep getting tips and tricks from him as well.
