Throughout my life in sports I’ve always thought about the event I would participate in or attend and wonder what I would do differently if I was the one who was in charge. Whether that be an entrance into a game or the marketing and setup of the event as a whole. The event I proposed to my penpal was a 7v7 football tournament for high school football teams. My first initial thoughts that I bought up were a 16 team tournament for high school teams in the Hampton Roads area to give teams an opportunity to compete and have fun as they prepare for their season. I also proposed a guaranteed 5 games 4 seeding 1 playoff so teams would be encouraged to sign up and spend the money due to the guaranteed experience the games will bring to their players. The recommendation my penpal gave me to improve my proposal was to expand the tournament to 24 teams to allow more schools the opportunity to compete and also expand the area of search to state wide and even out of state schools. He did like my 5 games guaranteed method and it allows teams to get their money’s worth.
