The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) crafted the NICE workforce framework to encompass a broad spectrum of cybersecurity domains, each accompanied by distinct job positions and detailed descriptions. Throughout the framework, several categories and specializations vary heavily on proficiency and focus within cybersecurity and IT majors. An interesting area for a potential cybersecurity career is threat analysis. A significant component of cybersecurity is the evaluation of threats and vulnerabilities, as cybercriminals are constantly evolving and gaining access to more powerful technologies. Operating, maintaining, and investigating are parts of the Nice framework I would enjoy focusing a career around. While there are few areas of the NICE framework that I find unappealing as part of a future career, dictating policy seems as though it would be frustrating as while it can be effective, the individuals writing the policies may often have to rely on others to implement said policies leading to potential errors.
