This course covers cybersecurity as an interdisciplinary field. Primarily, this course focuses on how social sciences can be applied to cybersecurity. The greatest threats to cybersecurity are human error and social engineering. This course goes into detail on why social engineering is effective and on strategies to mitigate the risk of human error.
Throughout this course, I completed journal entries, article reviews, and a final paper discussing cybersecurity as a social science. For the most part, journal entries were responses to prompts about a particular article or TED Talk. These exercises encouraged critical thinking and provided several examples of how social sciences are applied to cybersecurity.
