One of the assignments in this class that stuck with me was the “Find me a -mAb!” writing assignment. This paper was fascinating because I could relate what we learned in class to real-life applications. Learning about monoclonal antibodies and researching to write about a specific antibody was captivating because you can see how many different types of -mAbs there are and their different functions. The -mAb that I chose was Rituximab and found that it can target non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma cancer cells. Doing this assignment also helped me with another assignment in my genetics class where we did research to review an -mAb. Both of these assignments led me to a deeper understanding of how -mAbs, specifically Rituximab, work and how they can treat and target cancer cells.
