Module 10 Article Journal

This week’s journal entry was an article review about information warfare, national security and the effect cybersecurity has on it. With the ever-increasing use of technology worldwide, steps must be taken to ensure that the information stored online will be secure and available to use, while also keeping our government’s confidential information confidential. This article states that Information War is the main type of warfare wages nowadays, and that the victor is decided through those who understand the cyber world and what goes on inside of it.

“Many researchers in this field are leveraging computational social science tools such as network analysis, spatial analysis, semantic analysis, and machine learning.” The article also discusses the social science aspects that goes into Cybersecurity as well, including the multiple layers that these social sciences affect, such as “Emerging theories blend political science, sociology, communication science, organization science, marketing, linguistics, anthropology, forensics, decision science, and social psychology.”

The rest of the article goes on to discuss how cybersecurity has varied in the past to how it is changing now and how it might look in the future.
