The department just received the following message. This could be a good opportunity for some extra cash, though it’s too short a time frame for internship credit.
I am reaching out to you looking for interested Political Science students and faculty to work for our company reporting election results for the upcoming <RACE> Election on Tuesday November 8th. Edison Research is the firm that collects the vote totals on Election Night for the National Election Pool, which consists of ABC, CBS, CNN, and NBC.
The job would require an individual to report to a local County Elections Office and call in to our offices to report the vote totals as they are released on Election Night. The job would be for Election Night only, on the evening of Tuesday, November 8th. The position pays $85. Essentially, any punctual and responsible individual would be a good fit for this position.
We will be operating within the safety guidelines that county and state officials have implemented for election night. I wanted to extend this opportunity to Old Dominion University students who are interested in the electoral system or wanted some extra income. ODU students have been a big help in our reporting efforts in past elections.
If you would like to pass along more information about our company and its role in elections since 2004, most of my reporters find the following Washington Post article very informative.
If you happen to know a student who would be a good fit for this job, feel free to have them email me at jgivelber@edisonresearch.com with their name and a good contact number. I would be happy to review the position with them, and if you have any questions please feel free to call or email!
